Warped Tour 2013 Dates Announced!

As punk/rock music lover, I have a great love of Van’s Warped Tours. So far, I have been to Warped Tour 2010 and 2012 and hopefully will be attending 2013. The exciting part of the bands announced for warped is how they announce bands slowly over time starting in December! The first five bands have recently been announced and along with dates of the tour. Woe Is Me and I See Stars are among those. They announce less heard of bands first and the most well known ones will be announced much later. Vans began sponsoring Warped Tour in 1995 and was created by Kevin Lyman in 1994. Through the years many bands have played and feature about 100 bands a year. Warped Tour started in After a great line-up last year, including Breathe Carolina and Rise Against, I hope for another great list of bands!

Discovering a new band…

Is definitely one of the great delights of an average day. There are so many ways I have been introduced to my favorite bands including a friend showing me some music, seeing them play at Warped Tour, opening for concerts, pandora radio, and so on. Recently I have been introduced to a band called Hands Like Houses. They have a great sound, much like Sleeping With Sirens. For those of you who know who they are, I suggest you look them up, you will not regret it. I love spending my free time listening to Pandora radio and finding all new music. Every song I hear, I have to find out that band and usually make another Pandora station for that band. The outcome is a whole list of new sounds to fill your music players with. Some of the best bands are those you do not always here about, so keep your ears open and do some searching.

The musical journey continues

This past Tuesday, I was fortunate enough to be able to attend a concert at the Fubar in St. Louis, MO. My friend’s band, With You In Mind, was opening for The Classic Crime, William Beckett, and The Rocket Summer. All four of the bands were spectacular. I filmed With You In Mind play for them and afterwards just got to listen to the music. We were front row right against the stage and the speakers were buzzing when the Rocket Summer entered the stage and the crowd was ready to listen to the last band of the evening. Bryce Avary, the lead singer, had so much energy and that easily is a great way to make an amazing concert. The venue was much smaller than I was expecting but it turned out to be fun anyway. Afterwards, we were able to meet William Beckett and had a small chat with him. The concert was a great time and I hope to be going to another soon.

The One, The Only…

A Day To Remember. Now, let’s take some time to cover my favorite band. A Day To Remember was signed with Victory Records in 2006. The label Victory Records has a large collection of other alternative bands as well. Jeremy McKinnon, the lead vocalist, Kevin Skaff and Neil Westfall, the guitarists, Joshua Woodard, the bassist, and Alex Shelnutt, the drummer, blend together to make a wonderful collection of metal, pop, punk, and many other genres.

The band currently has four albums including their newest, What Separates Me From You, which was released in 2010. They are currently working on the newest album which their fans are all excited to hear.

All in all, this band is definitely one you should be checking out. Enjoy!

The Beginning

And so it begins, the start of a new adventure. What hopes to become an artistic and musical journey. With all this time walking to and from classes I’ve had had the plenty of time to broaden my music list. From A Day to Remember to the Beatles, I dare to cover all topics within this range. Along with my side interest in photography, I hope to give a view of the world as I see it.
